Treatment
The components of successful Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) and Combined Decongestive Therapy (CDT) includes:-
· An intensive course of daily therapy specific to your requirements followed by a monthly maintenance plan.
· Working with your health care professionals to devise the most appropriate treatment plan.
· You will be encouraged to fully participate in the therapeutic and home care aspects listed on the home care section.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage – a skin stretching technique to encourage the lymph to flow away from the swollen area, on lymphoedema patients this is conducted by opening new pathways specific to the patient.
